Wildlife reports

Black-headed Ground Snake, Rhynchocalamus melanocephalus – It is a relatively common snake in the Mediterranean region, that reaches the northern Negev desert. It resembles, both in appearance and behavior, snakes of Eirenis genus: small (rarely > 50cm length) and gentle, doesn’t bite. It is usually found on the ground, that why it was surprising to find it in the 2’nd floor of a house in kibbutz Beit Alfa (Beit Shean Valley, 05/09/2014, Barak Dotan).
